Pledge is full bodied without being blunt about it. The Connecticut Habano wrapper carries dark cocoa and espresso with a firm pepper spine, but the whole thing is tightly composed — nothing sticks out or turns harsh. Perez-Carrillo has been blending for decades and it shows in how controlled this is. It sits at the premium end of the price range and largely justifies it. If you find most full cigars crude, try this one before writing the category off.
