Arturo Fuente
The dominant Dominican house, and the name most associated with Cameroon-wrapped cigars in the US market.
Fuente has been family-run for four generations and operates at a scale most premium makers do not. The house style leans toward cedar, light spice and a nutty sweetness rather than power, largely through their use of African Cameroon wrapper. The Hemingway line, rolled as perfectos, is the brand's signature and is perpetually under-supplied. Fuente also produces Opus X, one of the first genuinely famous Dominican puros, which is allocated and priced far above the core lines.
